On Saturday, October 27th, Knowledgent Cares raised money and participated in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s at the South Street Seaport in Manhattan. Marc Edelstein, the team leader for the fundraising efforts and the walk, raised $6,000 for the Alzheimer’s Association!
Held annually in more than 600 communities nationwide, the Walk to End Alzheimer’s is the world’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support, and research. Proceeds from the Walk benefit the Alzheimer’s Association, which works on a global, national, and local level to provide care and support for all those affected by Alzheimer’s and other dementias.
The walk, which began in 1989, started with 9 chapters walking and raising money. Now, over 600 communities fundraise and walk. More than $75 million has been raised for the Alzheimer’s Association. This year, the Manhattan Walk to End Alzheimer’s raised a total of $611,789!
“Despite the Nor’easter, the walk and our team’s contribution was a huge success once again,” said Marc Edelstein. “We were able to exceed our goal of $5,000 and make a very substantial donation to the Alzheimer’s Association.”
