On Sunday, May 15, a few of our Informationists spent their day at the St. Francis House in Boston to serve meals to those in need.
Located in the heart of Downtown Boston, the St. Francis House is the largest day shelter in New England, serving over 800 underprivileged and homeless men and women a day, year-round.
Since 2009, more than 8,000 people have registered to receive services. But St. Francis House gives more than hot meals and a safe place – nearly half of those registered use their rehabilitative services as well, including case management and counseling, housing services, vocational rehabilitation, and their Moving Ahead program, which teaches the life and business skills necessary for individuals to secure and keep employment and housing.
Informationists Tina Botti and Ashby Sussman teamed up to serve delicious meals to those in need in the Boston area. The St. Francis House even gave them a shoutout on Twitter!
