Continuing with our giving spirit from our food drive last month, Informationists from the Boston, New Jersey, and New York offices teamed up with our very own Chris Blotto and his charity, the Daniel P. Ryan Foundation, for a holiday gift drive to benefit children at the Bristol Myers Squibb Child Life Center at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ.
The Daniel P. Ryan Foundation has been delivering gifts to the children there for the past 17 years. As part of Knowledgent Cares, our employee volunteer program, we joined them in making this the best year yet!
The staff at the BMS Child Life Center throws a fantastic holiday celebration to help the young patients there forget about their illnesses for a moment. To support them, we at Knowledgent donated a range of toys and personal hygiene items, including books, dolls, and matchbox cars!
If you’re interested in donating to the BMS Child Life Center or to similar organizations, here are some guidelines to keep in mind:
- Most hospitals can only accept unwrapped, new toys.
- Stuffed animals or toys and latex balloons may not be accepted due to infection control and allergy issues.
- Humorous medical games can cause fear and misconceptions in hospitalized children and should be avoided.
- Don’t forget the older children – video games, young adult books, and nail polish may also be accepted!
