On Sunday, October 1, a group of Informationists got together at Duke Island Park in Bridgewater, New Jersey to race in the Run to Restore 5K. All proceeds from the race benefitted the Diva for a Day Foundation. Our Informationists had a blast supporting this great cause – and one even placed in the top 3 for the race!
The Run to Restore 5K is an event for all ages with the standard 3 mile race, a 1-mile walk, and a food truck park after the race to refuel. The race benefitted the Diva for a Day Foundation, which is a non-profit organization that recognizes the benefits of a day to escape from the daily stresses a woman will face while dealing with cancer. Through the program, special Divas are selected each month to enjoy a complete day of pampering at a participating salon and spa. It is the Foundation’s goal and passion to make the program available to as many women as possible who are facing a cancer diagnosis.
“We had such a wonderful time at the race at Duke Island Park,” said Knowledgent Senior Graphic Designer Michelle Santiago. “It was great to cheer on my coworkers at the race, while knowing we were giving back to such an incredible foundation that gives women with cancer an opportunity to be pampered and escape for a day. I’m proud that we were able to be a part of this.”
Knowledgent was a platinum sponsor for the race. Our own Informationist Tim Oliver placed 3rd in the Men’s race and 1st in his age group, and even received a medal in the medal ceremony!
