On Sunday, June 3rd, our own Informationist Leslie Arturi teamed up with Knowledgent Cares and organized the Brooklyn 1 Million Steps 4 OCD Walk, benefitting the International OCD Foundation (IOCDF), while raising $1,700 for the organization!
Leslie, Knowledgent’s Conferences and Events Manager, has been a volunteer for the IOCDF for over eight years, helping out and giving back to those suffering from OCD and related disorders, such as panic/anxiety disorders and hoarding disorders.
This is Leslie’s third year organizing the 1 Million Steps 4 OCD Walk in Brooklyn at Prospect Park. She also captained her team, Team Crazy Train, again this year.
“I’m so appreciative of everyone who donated to Team Crazy Train,” said Leslie. “Every cent will go directly to an organization that’s doing such amazing work with the countless number of people who suffer every day from OCD and other anxiety-related disorders. It’s imperative in today’s day and age that mental health be made a higher priority for everyone.”
The mission of the International OCD Foundation is to help everyone affected by obsessive-compulsive disorder and related disorders to live full and productive lives. Their aim is to increase access to effective treatment, end the stigma associated with mental health issues, and foster a community for those affected by OCD and the professionals who treat them.
